Applewild’s Kindergarten is nestled in our Marshall Lower School Building, providing a wonderful environment for socialization in morning meetings, snack time, outdoor play, classroom library, and areas for blocks, housekeeping, art, science, writing and math. Kindergarten children are fully integrated into the life of our LowerSchool at our family-style lunches and in afternoon activities.
Expert Faculty
Our two early childhood experts, both with master's degrees, team teach in our Kindergarten. They have a wealth of experience providing developmentally appropriate active learning opportunities. In addition, our “special” subject teachers are professional educators trained in their disciplines.
Appropriate Pace
Our Kindergarten’s six-hour academic day (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) is appropriately paced, with an all-inclusive fee (lunch, snack). Children move comfortably among stations, projects and specials. Their day includes specific academic components both before and after lunch. Participation in the Kindergarten program ensures that children are well prepared for our 7 1/2 hour 1st Grade academic program.
For families wishing additional coverage for their children, our Extended Day Program provides relaxed, nurturing childcare including socialization, crafts, and exercise in a safe, well-supervised setting at an additional fee.
