Admission Matters April Newsletter

Welcome to new students who have enrolled for the fall!  We have a great group of students and families joining us in September.  Several siblings are part of this group, and we look forward to them being at Applewild.

Admission applications continue to be strong in this busy season, and we continue to host visitors.  This is commonly a time of year when parents with children in public school re-evaluate their public school experience and look at independent school options.  Please continue to talk with neighbors and friends about Applewild (and pull out your spring Applewild gear, or get in touch with Jen Raterman to see what is available!).  We have had great reactions to our new viewbook – I am happy to send them out to names you give me, or to get them to you to give to prospective parents you are in contact with.  Please let me know.

Summer at Applewild – Registration continues for all three summer programs.  New this summer are two programs designed to focus on particular interests, while utilizing Applewild’s beautiful campus.  Please see our website for full information.  The Writing Institute is for enthusiastic young writers, finishing 4th grade and up, who are eager to spend two weeks developing stories, taking inspiration from favorite authors, and enjoying the time to really focus on creating writing of their choice.  Girls finishing 4th grade and up who are interested in developing athletic skills and enjoying the ability to focus on two sports are invited to participate in the two-week session of Girls Field Hockey & Lacrosse Camp.  This camp goal is to introduce and enhance skills, as well as to develop game situation instincts.  Any skill level is welcome!  Adventure Camp is offered for 3 two-week sessions, and offers great opportunities for Junior Campers (entering Kindergarten and 1st grade) and Senior Campers (entering grades 2 through 9) as well as CIT’s, who will develop leadership skills.
