Fouth Grade SliceMinimize

April is a busy month in Fourth Grade! At the start of the month we head to The Lowell Mills to learn about waterpower, the Industrial Revolution, Immigration and the process of inventing new things. This science/social studies/language arts trip is an excellent example of how we connect curricula in meaningful ways. At the end of April we head off to Sturbridge Village for another cross-curricular trip.

At Sturbridge students will learn about the art of this time period, observe water at work, observe the progress made from new inventions, and how life was lived in the 1820’s. Both trips are exciting and exhausting, but very much worth the time and energy!

In the classroom our time is equally as busy and fun! During the month of April students will continue to write stories, learn new words, new methods for accurate spelling, new grammar concepts and read new wonderful stories. In math we will learn about division and begin a unit on geometry. Our social studies focus will be on the Industrial Revolution and how it fueled immigration frenzy.

We look forward to welcoming visitors to our campus this month as the Board of Visitors event unfolds and when alumni visit on the 25th.
