Below is a list of activities offered at Applewild this summer. Please note that some activities have an additional fee.
Archery – grades (4-5) (6-9)
Learn the fine art of archery! Follow American Camp Archery standards to develop safety, shooting techniques and work your way up the awards ladder. No equipment is needed. Note: Please sign up the appropriate age block.
Amazing Accessories – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Do you enjoy creating items that reflect who you are? You will have the opportunity to make your own, one-of-a-kind tie-dye shirts, headbands, barrettes, pins, purses, jewelry, and so much more!
Body in Motion – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Do you have energy, rhythm, and the urge to move? Body in Motion will challenge your muscles, mind, and coordination. Activities may include Dance Dance Revolution, jump roping, shadow boxing, hula hooping, Tai Chi, yoga, and dance routines.
Clowning Around – grades (5-9)
Camp is a three-ring circus when you spend it “clowning around”! From juggling to Diablo tossing, spinning plates to learning magic tricks, your circus skills will entertain your family and friends all year long. Beginners and experts alike are welcome.
CompuQuest – grades (2-4) (5-9)
You name the game! Gain familiarity with Apple computers as you enjoy supervised time playing games, surfing the Internet, and doing fun projects in the computer lab. It’s all about fun and games!
Crafty Creations – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Let your artistic talents shine. Come and sink your hands into clay, or play with paints, fabrics, paper, and lots more as you create unique crafts to take home.
Crazy Clay Ceramics - grades (5-9)
In this activity we will expore many different ways to work with clay, including coil, slab and sculpture. We will make one bowl, a plate and a sculpture piece and learn about the firing and glazing process along with other ways to decorate clay. (Material fee of $15)
Dodge Nerf Ball – grades (5-9)
Get ready to play – just don’t get knocked out! From Reginald’s Revenge to Gladiator, you’ll play many different variations of dodge ball and practice your throwing and dodging skills.
Escapades – grades (2-4)
This adventure is filled with games, challenges, energizers, and alternative versions of traditional sports and games. These activities tend to be non-competitive, with no winners and losers – just plain fun!
Fab Fine Arts – grades (5-9)
Get serious, artists! You will make beautiful pieces suitable for framing in this activity, including scratchboard and cartooning, watercolor sketches, printmaking, and painting.
Finders Keepers - grades (2-4) (5-9)
If you like hunting for buried treasure, cracking codes and following clues, then this adventure is for you. Everything from pirate treasure maps, geocaching and traditional scavenger hunts is fair game as you use codes, maps and a GPS to find the prize.
Instructional Basketball grades (2-4) (5-9)
Dribble, shoot, and score with this developmental program. Skills taught will increase your performance on the court!
Mad Science – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Explore science and nature through awesome science experiments, nature walks and activities, and even edible treats!
Printmaker – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Discover the fun art technique of printmaking. We will make monoprints and block prints that will wow your friends and will be great for framing.
Sports Climbing – grades (6-9)
Challenge yourself physically and mentally on our very own climbing wall and cargo net. Learn techniques to make you a better climber. Join the growing number of enthusiasts in this physically demanding sport.
Sports Dabbler – grades (2-4) (5-9)
Do you like to play competitive sports? Try a new sport each day. Dabble in soccer, volleyball, flag football, basketball, Whiffle ball, and more.
Swimming: Dolphins – grades (4-9) and meets requirements
Red Cross-certified swimming lessons for children who are able to swim crawl stroke 10 yards, swim elementary backstroke 10 yards, and jump into, tread, and swim in deep water.
Swimming: Trouts – grades (3-9) and meets requirements
Red Cross-certified swimming lessons for children who are able to open their eyes and retrieve an object found underwater, perform the crawl stroke, float on their backs, and swim elementary backstroke or combined stroke on back.
Swimming: Minnows – grades (2-6) and meet requirements Red Cross-certified swimming lessons for children who are interested in being in the pool and learning basic swimming skills.
Wild Blue Yonder – grades (5-9)
This activity will explore the age-old dream of taking to the sky…and beyond! Students will build and launch model rockets. (Material fee of $15)
Woodworking Jr. – grades (2-4)
Campers will learn the basics of woodworking in this hands-on class. Using simple hand tools, children will have the opportunity to design and build their own projects from kits, plans, and their own imagination. They will learn the basics of working with wood while having fun building and creating their projects! (Material fee of $15)
Woodworking Sr. – grades (5-9)
Campers will learn basic and some advanced woodworking skills, depending on their individual experience level. Simple hand tools and some basic power tools will allow the campers to plan, design, and build wooden objects. Instruction will be given on the different tools used for woodworking, along with finishing skills. Previous experience not required! (Material fee of $15)
