NEW! Hands Across Time

Session 2, July 8-July 19, 9:00-11:00
(Entering grade 9-adult)

Hands Across Time, also called H.A.T., is a unique way to learn the timeline of United States history through slogans, hand motions, key notes and of course, telling stories. Local Applewild history teacher and story teller, Todd Goodwin is pleased to offer this exciting learning opportunity for students of all ages from grade nine on up, including adults who may have enjoyed history in school and would like a refresher course.  There will not be any long and heavy reading assignments or difficult tests for which to study. What a perfect way to prepare for celebrating Independence Day!

Mr. Goodwin has been developing and teaching this with students for over twenty years. He has been teaching at Applewild for more than 35 years and currently chairs the Social Studies Dept as well. He has degrees in Education and History from Fitchburg State College. He has performed as a storyteller at many camps, libraries, schools and senior centers. He combines his love of history with his passion for teaching students of all ages.

Materials needed are an old-fashioned steno pad and pen. A four-colored pen would enhance the experience but is not required.
