I live in San Francisco with my wife Patty and our two children, Milo and Piper. I have been working at PixarAnimation Studios as an animator since 1997 and spent the last three months directing promotional spots for the new Pixar film, Brave. Recently I started animating on the film Monsters University, a sequel to Monsters, Inc.
Favorite Applewild Memories:
That’s a tough question. I spent 10 years of my life at Applewild and have so many wonderful memories it would be hard to pick just one. The Harvest Fair, the lacrosse tournaments, Camp Chewonki, sledding with Mr. Goodwin and the canoe trips with Mr. Buck and Mr. Witte stand out in my memory.
In my early years at Applewild, Mrs. Cragin was a tremendous influence on me. I was never particularly interested in drama. I was terrified of getting on stage, but that didn’t stop her from casting me as “Aladdin” in the school play. From what I can remember, I was horrible in the role, but I walked away from the experience with much more confidence that has helped me throughout my whole life. In the last few years at Applewild, Ned Witte helped guide me on my path. He always showed me the positive side of a situation. Besides being such a wonderful teacher, he was also a great friend. I will never forget him.
I cherish my time at Applewild. The community, the teachers, the values, and the friendships are what made me who I am today. I feel incredibly lucky to have spent so much of my life and education at such a wonderful school.
