Applewild Hosts the 4th Annual Boston Strong 2.62 Mile Benefit Walk and 5K Run -Benefit for The Brittany Fund for Trauma and Recovery

The fourth annual Boston Strong 2.62 Mile Benefit Walk and 5K Run is scheduled for April 9th, 2016 at Applewild School. The event will begin at 10 am and will be followed by the free Kid’s Fun Run (at approximately 11am)

Registration deadline for race t-shirts is March 28th for teams and individuals.

All proceeds benefit the Brittany Fund for Trauma and Recovery, an organization founded by Brittany Loring, a survivor of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Brittany and her sister Alyssa Loring Tirella ’01 are alumni of Applewild School.

The organization’s mission is to provide support to promote the health and wellbeing of families and individuals that have been affected by traumatic events. (www.brittanyfund.org)

– 2.62 Mile Walk Starts at 10:00 am
– 5K Run Starts at 10:05 am

Friday, April 8th, 4-8pm-Applewild School
Saturday, April 9th, 8-9:45am-Applewild School
Parking: We have plenty of parking at the school. Additional parking is available at the CHC about 0.5 mile for the school.
Day of Registration: There will be a “day of” registration (without a t-shirt) from 8-9:45 am. Cash and check only
Route:
Timing: The 2.62 Benefit Walk will not be timed
The 5K Benefit Run is being timed and winners for each age group will be announced as well as winning team!
Water Station: We will have one water station at the midpoint of the run.
Kids Fun Run: We will have a Kids Fun Run at 11am (time is subject to change). No registration is needed and children of all ages can participate. The run will be one lap around the school and parents are welcome to accompany young children during the run.
Activities: We have games and face painting for children from 10-12pm
Entertainment: DJ Hunt will be playing some awesome tunes from 10-12pm
Raffle Items: We will have a variety of raffle items donated by our sponsors.
