Applewild Names 6th Head of School
Applewild School Board President Will Aubuchon has announced the naming of the 6th Head of Applewild School in Fitchburg. Christie Stover was unanimously recommended by the Search Committee to the Board of Trustees who accepted the recommendation. Aubuchon stated that Stover “impressed us all with her energy, her breadth and depth of experience, her understanding of Applewild, and her vision.” In addition he praised her professionalism, genuineness and strong communication skills. The committee interviewed a wealth of candidates, inviting three finalists to visit the campus for a series of forums in January.
Christie Stover brings extensive experience in early childhood and elementary education, in admissions, and in school leadership. Currently the Head of School at Hudson Montessori School in Hudson, OH, which serves 245 students toddler through grade 8, Stover held a number of senior administrative positions at Columbus School for Girls (CSG) in Ohio for seven years prior to leading Hudson Montessori. School leadership is a second career for Stover. She began her professional life in the corporate sector as a Manager and Director in corporate training programs, working for John Hancock Financial and Central Benefits National Insurance, among others. Stover received her undergraduate degree in Education with a major in English and a minor in Economics from the University of Illinois, and earned a Master of Labor & Human Resources from The Ohio State University’s Fisher School of Business.
Stover will begin her work on July 1 at Applewild, taking over the reins from Christopher B. Williamson, who is retiring after his 10 year tenure at the school.
