Position Announcement – Director of Auxiliary Programs
Applewild School, an independent, co-educational K – 8 school located on 26 beautiful acres in North Central Massachusetts, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Director Auxiliary Programs. Founded in 1957, Applewild School believes that the ages of 4 – 15 are the most important in a child’s education, providing a carefully balanced, purposeful, and challenging curriculum that results in creative, critical thinkers. Applewild students are eager to learn and excited to come to school each day, thriving in an environment where collaboration among peers and teachers is valued. Applewild is accredited by AISNE and a member of NAIS and NBOA.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the DAP is a full time position responsible for all aspects of the auxiliary programs, which consist of the summer, winter and spring break programs and the early and extended day programs, in accordance with Applewild’s mission. The DAP is responsible for the leadership and management of the auxiliary programs, including but not limited to financial management and reporting; developing, marketing and scheduling the programs’ content; student enrollment; recruiting, hiring and training faculty and staff; and working with the Director of Facilities, IT department, and other Applewild personnel needed to manage the logistics of the programs. Reporting to the DAP are the faculty and staff of the auxiliary programs.
Qualifications: The ideal applicant will have 5 to 10 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in a school or youth-serving organization, supervisory experience, exceptional entrepreneurial and organizational skills and a successful track record working with a wide range of people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as are a joy and passion for working collaboratively with colleagues, children, and families of the school and summer programs. A bachelor’s degree is required.

Applewild School, an independent K-8 day school in Fitchburg, MA seeks a Mathematics teacher beginning fall 2017.
Appropriate candidates should have 2+ years of teaching experience with an emphasis and interest in problem based learning, differentiated instruction, teaching a range of abilities in ability based groupings, and experience teaching though Algebra I. Teaching responsibilities include three or four sections in grades 6-8. Additional responsibilities include serving as an advisor, full participation in the life of the school, leading a club or other initiative, and coaching.

Preschool/Pre-K Teacher, part time, 20-25 hours weekly, year-round position.
We are growing! Currently we are looking for a part time teacher for our Fitchburg location.
At Applewild Preschool, our year-round program is rooted in child-centered activities. We view children as powerful, capable and resourceful learners. Our Emergent Curriculum builds from the natural curiosities of our students and activities are project based and hands-on.
-High School or GED required
-Associated college level work, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
-EEC certified preferred (Fitchburg)
-12 months of professional teaching experience
-Ability to develop emergent curriculum that encourages students to explore, create and investigate.
-Skills that foster positive relationships, interactions and communication with co-workers and parents.
-Ability to be scheduled to work M-F until 5:30 pm
