“Through Our Eyes: Art and Language Exhibit”
Opening reception for the new exhibit in the Marshall lobby.
Don’t miss the 8th grade exhibit in the Marshall lobby. The exhibit, a collaboration between the Arts and English departments, features our 8th graders as they explore personal histories through personal histories, sculpture, photography, art critiques, and personal narratives.
The exhibit consists of several student projects including a multi-media “Bike Sculptures and Stories”, from on one or more personal histories or an oral history from a relative or friend. The story that inspired the artwork is also on display.
“Still-Life as Self Portrait” photographs and written reflections were installed in the gallery as well. This project highlighted a personal passion or passions through object, linking back to the art of memoir in English class. The memoirs have been described as full of laughter, some sadness, and thought provoking.
The exhibit runs through April 29th.
