Important Advice From 1st Grade

27 Jun

The Important Book

or, what's really on the minds of First graders

What's important to a First grader? We've asked that question many times over the years that Applewild School has been educating children. Since 1957  we have continue to stay true to our founders' vision. We know students need time to play outside in an unstructured environment, time to explore academics in a caring setting, and we make school fun!  We also know we need to listen, really listen, to our students.  In our student focused classrooms, lessons are collaborative and our students curious. Relationships are built across grades with our Buddy Program. Recently, we asked our First graders to tell us what advice they would give their 8th grade buddies as they prepare to move on to their next schools. They then developed a list of advice for their 8th grade graduating buddies. A book of their advice is to the right.
