Meet Elsa from Frozen!
How do you go about raising money for a medical mission to Haiti? First thing might be to look in the mirror and see who you resemble. At least that’s what Nicole Fleming of Winchendon did and she saw Elsa, the Snow Queen from Frozen. She donned a blue dress and braided her long blond hair and a live Elsa was born. An alumna of Applewild School in Fitchburg and currently a senior at Worcester Academy, Nicole in the Elsa persona appears at children’s parties, raising money toward her goal of $2000 needed for her second medical mission. On Saturday, February 7, Elsa will be at Applewild School at a Frozen Event open to the public.
Nicole’s website http://winchendonsnowqueen.blogspot.com/ describes her work with an organization called Love in Motion (loveinmotion.org), founded by Monadnock Bible Conference in Jaffrey NH. This will be Nicole’s second trip to Haiti with Love in Motion. In her blog, Nicole wrote recently, “I have almost reached the $2000 cost of my medical mission trip. This has been such a wonderful opportunity to raise money to help the people of Haiti and to spread a little Snow Queen love to the kids around here. Any money raised past the amount can be used to purchase medicines, supplies and pay for hospital visits for people with conditions the clinic cannot treat.”
On Saturday, February 7 from 10:30 am to noon, the Parent Association of Applewild School will sponsor a Frozen Event, featuring Elsa and Olaf in the Stone Family Dining Hall, 100 Prospect St. in Fitchburg. Check in begins at 10:00 am. $15 advance tickets ($20 at the door, and space if limited) are available at www.applewild.org or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
