Wonderful results from State History Day held this past Saturday in Stoneham. Three of our 8th graders qualified for National History Day (June) and all Applewild entrants were confident, accomplished and proud. Dan Sullivan earned 2nd place for his Individual Website – The 1972 Munich Olympics: The Darkest Day in Olympic History. Anthony Mitchell and Jack Horsman received a 1st place for their website on Conflicting Rights and Responsibilities During the Cuban Missile Crisis. This project also earned recognition from the National Maritime Historical Society as the best entry connecting to Maritime History. Grace Lyons, Emily Agreda and Madison Lessard received Honorable Mention for their entries. Congratulations to all the students, their families and their teachers.
