Card Making
Rising Grade K and older
Session 5
Cardmaking is the craft of hand-making greeting cards. We will use equipment which includes a Circuit Machine, a Cuttle Bug, and a Big Shot. The cards will be made using a wide range of basic techniques. Some of the materials used will include cardstock, alcohol based markers, colored pencils, water colors, glue sticks, double sided tape, sequins, beads, ribbon, buttons, brads, glitter and more.

Fairy Dish Gardens
Rising Grade 1 and older                                                      
Sessions 2,7
Fairy gardens are dish gardens with small figurines and accessories that form a miniature Landscape. Using a wide range of rocks, plants, and fairy furniture each child will create his/her own creation. We will be going on hikes to gather findings for our gardens. Also, most of our accessories will be hand-made and crafted by each individual sticks, clay, paint and a variety of trinkets. We will also make our own little fairy for each garden.

Soccer Camp I
Rising Grades
4 – 8                    
Session 1

An opportunity to develop skills and concepts of the game (for beginning and intermediate level players). Each 3-Hour Session will be organized: 1. Warm-Up and Dynamic Stretch: 15 min 2. Individual Skills: Circuits, Under-speed drills to over-speed competitions: 30 min 3. Small Games: Condensed Field Situations with altered rules to all for learning through play. 45 min 4. Team Building: Mental Challenges and Games 30 min 5. Scrimmage: 45 min 6. Cool Down and Reflect: 15 Min.  Coach Cirone is the Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Cushing Academy and an Applewild parent.

Leader-In-Training Programs

Junior LIT : Leader-in-training; for grades 7-10 (must be 14 years old or by Director approval). This program gives the participants the ability to see what it’s like to be a counselor and leader in camp. Participants will learn how to effectively lead activities, gain supervisory skills, and develop the confidence to lead by example. Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive a certificate confirming your achievement.

Registration Options are either Full-day LIT OR half-day LIT, and optional additional programming for the remainder of the day.

Senior LIT : This selective program is by application only, ages 16 and up. Participants are given increased responsibility in the areas of camper supervision, program development and implementation, and advanced leadership training from program directors.

Participants are volunteers who must meet the following:

  • Submit completed application packet
  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Completed a Junior LIT or CIT program (or equivalent-must be approved by Applewild Director)  at Applewild or elsewhere
  • Enthusiastic about working with children of all agesResponsible and outgoing
  • Committed to providing a physically and emotionally safe environment for all campers
