Administrative Assistant for Admissions Office & Division Heads

Support for Admissions Office and Division Heads. Organized, quick learner, able to switch gears easily in elementary school environment, enjoy meeting people and working around children. Specific skills include Office software suite, Google docs, Squarespace; RenWeb also a plus. Position is full or part-time depending on extent of role. Minimum requirement: Experience in office setting.

Admission Associate or Intern

The Admission Associate will be primarily responsible with the prospective family experience.  This includes answering their questions and showing them the many ways our school will meet their children’s educational and socio-emotional needs.  Doing this well will require diplomacy, patience, empathy and exceptional communication skills.  This includes the ability to articulate the benefits of an independent school education and the unique features of the Applewild program with conviction, authenticity and persuasion.

The Admission Associate will also spend 25-50% of her or his time developing and maintaining the school website and social media presence, in partnership and collaboration with other members of the External Affairs team.

Associate/Assistant Director of Admissions

The Assistant Director of Admission will welcome prospective families and care for them throughout the admission process.  This may sound easy but requires incredible diplomacy, patience, empathy and communication skills.  This includes the ability to articulate the benefits of an independent school education and the unique features of the Applewild program with conviction, authenticity and persuasion. This is a great job for someone who loves working with families, is able to multitask, handle pressure and maintain confidentiality.

Extended Day Coordinator

The Extended Day Program Coordinator staffs and works collaboratively with and supervises additional Extended Day staff to provide a safe, supportive, and enjoyable program for the students who attend Extended Day program.  The Extended Day program provides after school care for Applewild students for all grades and operates during the school year Monday – Friday and on some specific additional vacation days as identified annually.

Lower School Science (grades 1-5)

Applewild has long emphasized science instruction in all grades. This position provides specific, hands-on and inquiry-based science (2x/wk grades 1 – 3; 3x/wk grades 4 – 5). It includes collaboration with homeroom and other special subject teachers.

The position is part time and benefits eligible but can combine with Extended Day or other duties to expand to full time. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree and some teaching experience.

Second Grade Homeroom Teacher

Self-contained classroom focusing on language arts, mathematics, social studies and health curriculum using a Responsive Classroom approach to building community and emphasize Applewild’s Core Values using a metacognitive approach.

The position is full time and benefits eligible. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree and some teaching experience.

Substitute Teachers

Seeking on call substitute teachers for Kindergarten through Grade 8.  Applicants must be able to follow directions and implement lesson plans outlined by the regular classroom teacher, work independently, and be flexible.
