Applewild Adventures

The ultimate summer experience, Applewild Adventures invites campers to make new friends, try new activities, and have the time of their lives! Daily activities include optional swim instruction (excluding Junior Campers), games and sports, crafts, inquiry-based science and STEAM challenges, and more! Want to guarantee your child will have a great summer? Look no further! Morning, afternoon, and full day options are available. Each week will feature a different theme that will keep the camp experience fresh and exciting all summer long!

We offer a 5% discount when registering for more than 1 week (must register for multiple weeks in a single transaction)

 

This camp complies with regulations set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the local board of health.

Pre Camp Day Care: Summer Kickoff- Week June 17th-21st

Want to kick off your summer the right way? Join our Pre-Camp Day Care for a great way to ease into the summer months. Some friends will still be in school, but this doesn’t mean we still can’t have fun! This week will be tailored to the individuals participating! Sports, games, crafts, music, gardening and adventure will all be available during our pre-camp session. Please note that swimming will not be offered this week. Let’s kick off summer together!

Week One-June 24th-28th: Around the World in 5 Days

Hola! Bonjour! Hallo! Tour the world and travel in style at Applewild Summer Camp! No need to make big travel plans this summer, all of the adventure is right here! What do people eat in their home countries? What do they do for fun? What traditions do they have? We’ll play games, eat different types of food, and learn words from around the world in an effort to understand the similarities and differences that unite us all. Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities and events.

Week Two-July 1st-3rd: All American
(No Camp July 4th or July 5th)

Be a true patriot and show your stars and stripes! Join us in celebrating America’s birthday! Learn about how fireworks are made with a flame lab demo. Campers will have the chance to interview local firefighters and police officers. Note that this is a short week, but it doesn’t mean we have to be short on the fun! Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Week Three-July 8th-12th: Great Outdoors

Trail blaze, pitch a tent, make s’mores! The Great Outdoors themed week will be filled with outdoor inspired activities and crafts. Learn survival skills, identify mushrooms and plants, and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Harvest from the Williamson Garden, build your own fairy garden community, and hike through the 26 acres of conservation lands that surround Applewild. If your child enjoys being outdoors, he or she will love this week! Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Week Four-July 15th-19th: Superheros

Calling all superheroes! What’s your superpower, or who is your favorite superhero? Campers will spend the week designing and creating their very own superhero costume! Batman, Superwoman, Hulk, Thor, Spiderman, Aquaman, Captain America, the gangs all here! Just think, what would Superman do? Make the right choice and sign up for a super fun week! Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Week Five-July 22nd-26th: Lights, Camera, Action

We are rolling out the red carpet this week during the Lights, Camera, Action themed week! Learn and participate in improv activities. Whose line is it anyway? Charades! Karaoke! Music Videos! Dance! Campers will enhance their acting skills and work together to perform a play/skit for the whole camp! Campers will utilize our beautiful Alumni Center for the Performing Arts theater. Show off your talents! Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Week Six-July 29-August 2nd: Nailed It Cooking Creations

We’ll really get cooking during Nailed It: Cupcake Challenge Week. Campers will use frosting and various candies to take their cupcakes and cookies to the next level. Learn how to use various baking tools and instruments while creating and designing mini delicious works of art. They’ll also take a bite out of activities like blind taste tests, finding recipes, and more! Whether you have a sweet tooth or opt for something more savory, you’ll find plenty to enjoy this week! Campers will enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Week Seven-August 5th-9th: Water Wonders

Hold your breath and take a dive into adventure during our Water Wonders themed week!  Explore what lurks far beneath the surface. We will splash into life under the sea and learn about marine biology and why the oceans are so important. Dance like a jellyfish! Jump like a dolphin! Act like a clownfish! Anything is possible when you’re having oceans of fun! Campers will enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities and a little extra pool time!

Week Eight-August 12th-16th: Build it Better

Do you have an idea on how to make improvements to something? Do you enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together? How about problem solving to get to a solution? This could be your favorite week of summer camp! This week’s camp is designed for your emerging innovator! They will take an idea from a dream to reality as they become inventors of the future. Work through the process of creating, building, and presenting your invention to the whole camp! Campers will also enjoy all of our regularly scheduled camp activities.

Leadership in Training (LIT)

Our Leadership in Training (LIT) is a great program for anyone who is looking to be a future captain for a team, enhance their communication skills, or get the opportunity to build on their pre-existing leadership skills. They will come away from our program as positive, influential leaders. LIT’s will work with various staff members as an assistant to the counselor. They will be challenged with planning and implementing a weekly activity, as well as creating a positive culture and community with their assigned group. Guest speakers and visitors will also help motivate, educate, and prepare our LIT’s so that they can be role models for their peers to follow.

Weeks Four & Five: Animal Ambassadors I &II

 Come and join us for an interesting week learning about animals! Each day, you will meet a different animal. Visiting animals will include a hedgehog, chickens, a duck, ferrets, rats, a guinea pig, rabbits, a dog and maybe a Mini-horse. You will learn about the animal of the day and will have the opportunity to interact with that animal and spend time observing and understanding its behaviors. You will learn how to care for the animals which could include grooming, cleaning cages and feeding. You will become an Animal Ambassador demonstrating compassion, responsibility and respect towards animals. You will create your own field journal and fill it with information, sketches, pictures and interesting facts about each animal. Hands-on projects and journal reflections will be a part of this fun learning experience. Come and learn about animals and be inspired to make a difference in the lives of all animals. Appropriate for animal-loving children entering grades 2-6. Must be willing to laugh, learn, and become an animal friend!

Babysitting Training Course Wk 1 & Wk 4: $300

Need the proper and professional training to become a qualified babysitter? Our babysitting training course will help you provide quality care to children of all ages. This course includes the American Red Cross certification, which is developed by experts in the industry! The babysitting training course is only available to those ages 11 and older. Topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to choosing age-appropriate activities, basic child care, like bottle feeding, child behavior, leadership, professionalism, safety, starting a babysitting business, and more. Walk away from this course with an American Red Cross Babysitting certificate as well as a personal flyer to distribute to your local community! Space is very limited!

Week One: Lacrosse Skills

This program is designed to provide girls the best development of lacrosse skills. Learn the rules, practice scooping, and hit the corners with our experienced coaching staff. Small games, situational drills, and games will be played to improve each athlete’s skills and knowledge of the game. Players will be trained individually and in small groups to develop these essential skills. Campers will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the pool to cool down in the afternoon! Athletes will be placed together by age and ability.

Entering grades: 2nd-4th or 5th-8th

What you need: water bottle, sneakers/cleats, bathing suit, towel, nut-free snack & lunch

Week Two: Baseball Skills (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Swing for the fence and join our Baseball Skills camp! The Applewild Summer Baseball Skills camp is great for any young athlete who is looking to improve their skills, work hard, and make new friends! Grounders, pop-ups, base runner situations, and more! Throw harder and faster than ever before! Athletes will be placed together by age and ability. Campers will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the pool to cool down in the afternoon!

Entering grades: 2nd-4th or 5th-8th

What you need: water bottle, glove, bathing suit, towel, nut-free snack & lunch

Weeks Three & Four: Hawk Soccer I & II

Learn the sport or perfect your skills! The goal of the program is to coach our young athletes the skills it takes to be successful in soccer. They will practice dribbling, passing, receiving, and shooting. Campers will also play games and participate in drills, which are designed to improve their soccer agility. There is plenty of space to run and stretch as they will be using our two, full-sized soccer fields. Campers will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the pool to cool down in the afternoon! Athletes will be placed together by age and ability.

Entering grades: 2nd-4th or 5th-8th

What you need: water bottle, shin guards, bathing suit, towel, nut-free snack & lunch

Week Five: Dodge, Dip, Dive

Each morning the campers will learn and play different styles of dodgeball using specialized, foam dodgeballs in a fun and safe atmosphere. This camp is for boys and girls going into 4th-8th grade. Throughout the week the campers will play and learn different strategies and styles of dodgeball. Campers will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the pool to cool down in the afternoon! There is limited space. Enroll early!

Weeks Six & Seven: Hawk Hoops I & II

Dribble, dribble, shoot, shoot, put that ball in the hoop, hoop! The goal of the program is to develop and improve the athletes’ skills so that they can be successful in basketball. Learn proper shooting form, dribble away from the defense, and make that lay-up! Players will be trained individually and in small groups to develop these essential skills. Campers will also have the opportunity to take a dip in the pool to cool down in the afternoon! Athletes will be placed together by age and ability.
