A Home Away from Home
At Applewild, our residential life program is designed to provide students with a safe, supportive and vibrant community where they can thrive both academically and personally. Our campus offers three dormitories, nutritious and family-style dining experiences, and access to the full range of facilities on campus that make life outside the classroom enriching and fun. From our cozy common areas to the beautiful outdoor grounds, every part of our residential life program is thoughtfully designed to foster connection, independence and a sense of belonging.
Our brand-new, state-of-the-art dormitory is a 17,000 sq. ft. facility designed to house 40 boarding students and six faculty families. The building’s modern design, which emphasizes safety and comfort, supports the well-being of students while encouraging collaboration and community.
This 1910 mansion was fully renovated in 2020 to provide a warm, home-like environment for students and faculty. The Flat Rock dormitory is located adjacent to our soccer and lacrosse fields, and entrances to nature trails that run through the forest. The dormitory features two common rooms and two covered porches.
Res LifeIn 2022 we fully renovated the graceful Victorian home into a cozy, convenient dormitory for students and faculty. Student rooms feature double and triple configurations with a main-level common room, and a large covered porch for socializing.
Res LifeThe Stone Dining Hall is more than just a place to eat - it is a central gathering space where the Applewild community comes together daily. Students in grades K–5 and 6–9 enjoy lunch in age-based groups. Our residential life students eat and gather for breakfast and dinner each day in this space. Whether it’s a lively lunchtime conversation, a community celebration, or a fun night on campus, the Stone Dining Hall is a space where relationships grow and traditions are shared.
Res LifeThe Marshall Building is a vibrant and joyful space where Applewild’s youngest learners begin their educational journey. Home to our preschool through grade 3 classrooms, as well as our performing arts space - including music, theater, and band - it’s filled with energy, creativity, and curiosity. Designed with early childhood in mind, the Marshall Building provides a nurturing environment that supports growth, exploration, and a strong foundation in both academics and the arts. From the first notes played in band to early literacy milestones, it’s a place where a love of learning truly takes root.
Res LifeThe Ansin Building is home to Applewild’s upper grades, serving students in grades 6 through 9 as they engage in deeper academic exploration and personal growth. This dynamic space also houses our library, Maker Space and Art studio, encouraging both critical thinking and hands-on creativity. Whether students are diving into a research project, building a prototype, or collaborating on a group discussion, the Ansin Building provides the tools and environment for meaningful learning. It is the hub of curiosity, independence, and innovation as students prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.
