Mary Ann Sudolnik was a beloved 8th grade science teacher at Turkey Hill School committed to expanding the minds of all of her students. She understood the value of high-quality education and wanted students from her hometown to have access to as many opportunities as possible.
This scholarship is designed to identify and support one high-achieving student at a pivotal moment in their education.
What Is the Mary Ann Sudolnik Scholarship for Lunenburg Residents?
This is a newly established, full-tuition scholarship awarded to one rising 4th and one rising 5th grade student from Lunenburg.

This scholarship was designed to make Applewild accessible for a student from Lunenburg who demonstrates strong academic ability and the potential to thrive in a dynamic learning environment.
This opportunity reflects Applewild’s mission to nurture curious learners and empower them to lead with confidence, courage, and humanity.
Who Is Eligible?
- Current 3rd or 4th grade students
- Residents of Lunenburg
- Students not currently enrolled at Applewild School
- Students who complete the scholarship assessment
Selection is merit-based, with a focus on academic excellence and other evidence of achievement, as well as the ability to live Applewild’s Core Values.

Students begin by submitting an application. They will then be invited to attend one of our two scholarship days. As part of the process, applicants will be invited to campus to participate in two short computer-based assessments on Math and Language Arts, followed by a brief writing sample and an interview. You can expect your child to be with us for an hour and 30 minutes. During the assessment, we will have a small information session and refreshments for parents.

- May 5 (5:00 PM)
- May 9 (9:00 AM)

Selection is based on a combination of factors, including each student’s performance during the assessment, their written response, and overall fit for the program. Final decisions are made by a committee.
Note: To be enrolled at Applewild, a full admission application must be completed prior to enrollment.
This scholarship covers the full tuition rate ($33,250 for the 2026-2027 school year).
The scholarship will be renewed for each year the student attends Applewild.
While the Lunenburg Scholarship provides full tuition to one recipient, additional applicants may be considered for other merit-based awards, in addition we have a robust financial aid program at Applewild. Parents are encouraged to apply for additional support.
