Schedule a Visit
The first step in the Applewild admissions process is to come visit us! We would be delighted to show you around our campus, so that you can begin to get to know our community, and we can get to know you.
To schedule a visit for prospective K–8 families, please inquire online or contact Stacey Low, Associate Director of Admission, directly at 978-342-6053, ext 163 or email@example.com.
To schedule a tour of our Devens preschool or prekindergarten, please inquire online or contact Sherri Ebner, our Preschool Director, at 978-796-5183 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To schedule a tour of our Fitchburg preschool or prekindergarten, please inquire online or contact Theresa Carusa-Ortega, our Curriculum Specialist, at 978-342-6053, ext 409, or email@example.com.
After you’ve toured, your next step is to complete our online application. Please note, the online application is for grades K–8 only. As part of the application process, we ask for one or more teacher recommendations and an official transcript. Our online application includes an area to provide email addresses for the teachers and a downloadable transcript form to submit to your child's current school to request grade reports as well as any additional testing your child has received.
Preschool Applicants do NOT need to complete the online application.
International Applicants should choose the International Application.
Complete an Assessment
Once the application is complete, we will schedule a time for your child to come to campus for an assessment. Assessments vary in format and duration according to your child’s grade level.
If your child is entering grades K–4, one of our teachers will administer the Gesell Developmental Observation, a relaxed screening involving age-appropriate drawing, math, and cognitive exercises. Children applying for grades 2–4 will also complete assessments at that time in reading, writing, and math, to determine readiness for our grade-level curriculum.
If your child is entering grades 5–8, he or she will take the ISEE, a standardized test for entrance into independent schools. Please register for the ISEE at iseetest.org. For your convenience, Applewild School offers the ISEE on campus December 7, 2018, and January 4, February 15, and March 28, 2019. When appropriate, we accept educational and neuro-psychological testing in lieu of the ISEE; please inquire about this option during your visit with us.
International Applicants are required to submit a Duolingo assessment, plus TOEFL or SSAT results. In addition, if you are not able to visit campus, we require a Skype interview so that we may get to know you and you have the chance to learn more about us.
If we think that Applewild would be a good fit for your child, we will offer you enrollment, and hope that you choose to join our community!
Families applying for admission to grades K–8 should complete the full admission process by February 1, 2020 to be considered for the 2020-21 school year. For families who complete the admission process by February 1, admission decisions will be provided on March 10, 2020.
After February 1, 2020, we continue to accept applications on a rolling basis for limited available space.
Tuition and Financial Aid
If you feel our yearly tuition may put an Applewild education out of reach for your family, we have a number of affordability options for you to consider, including our Access Applewild program which offers a responsive and responsible alternative to traditional financial aid models.
